根据上海越剧院演出本改编。明代吏部尚书李廷甫之女李秀英，聪明贤惠，容貌秀丽，父母爱若珍宝。秀英年已及笄，尚待字闺中。李廷甫50寿诞之日，好友王裕夫妇偕子玉林前来祝寿。李廷甫见玉林品貌端庄，仪表不俗，有意试试他的才华，就叫他题写寿联一副。玉林即席挥毫，顺手而成。李廷甫大喜，就以秀英许配为妻。李秀英的表兄顾文友，原有娶秀英之心，今见她被许配王玉林，心中恼恨，遂与孙媒婆密谋定下奸计。。自幼在孤儿院长大的挚友Anda与Lalisa情同姐妹，当Lalisa发现Anda实则是富豪Ramita苦苦寻找的亲生女儿时，她窃取了Anda的身份，冒认成为Ramita的千金。与此同时，真正的Anda遇见了Pheem与Anol这对性格迥异的表兄弟。Pheem因一场袭击导致父亲昏迷、自己双目失明，自此隐居在孤儿院附近，他与Anda相遇后渐生情愫。而表弟Anol却冷漠阴郁，自幼缺失关爱的他始终活在Pheem的光环阴影下，如今，Anol更奉命驱逐孤儿院的住户，这场身份错位与情感纠葛的漩涡愈演愈烈……。The epic adventures of the legendary Baran the Bandit following his release from prison.
